BP to Spend Millions on Louisiana Tourism

BP to give millions to Louisiana tourism BP has decided to give millions of dollars in costs to Louisiana as the American state works to recover from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. BP has agreed to use around $78 million to test and promote Louisiana seafood and drive tourism following the catastrophe.

Spending was confirmed by state governor Bobby Jindal earlier today following meetings with executives of BP.

He also confirmed plans to use $140 million already devoted to the state by BP to strengthen sand berms that were built off the Louisiana coast to block oil.
Critics say the work will be harmful to the environment but Jindal says no.
