California, Here We Come! Etihad Airways to Launch San Francisco Service

California, Here We Come! Etihad Airways to Launch San Francisco ServiceEveryone likes more options, especially when one of those options happens to be San Francisco. In a few short months, Etihad Airways will make indulging in the sun, sand, and surf of the West Coast easy. Etihad, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will launch its San Francisco service on November 18, 2014.

Considered a major opportunity for the airline’s United States expansion, the daily scheduled flights to San Francisco International Airport will arrive on a three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft leased by Jet Airways. Currently, Etihad offers services to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, DC. Flights to Dallas are scheduled to begin on December 3, 2014.

“The United States has been placed at the heart of our network development this year,” James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways, said. “San Francisco is another strong addition and provides our first direct link to Northern California. Given its global prominence as a tourism and business centre, we anticipate strong demand in First, Business and Economy Class, not only between San Francisco and Abu Dhabi, but onwards to destinations across our network and the networks of our codeshare partners.”

San Fran –land of Victorian architecture, impenetrable fog, and too many bohemians –beckons. And soon, Etihad will make your California dreamin’ a reality.

  • Choosing footwear for trips can be challenging. Of course, bringing the right gear to keep your feet comfortable depends on what you plan on doing during the trip and the climate of the place you’ll be staying. In addition to any “specialty” shoe I might need (hiking boots, for example), I always bring comfortable and versatile footwear that won’t slow me down. One suggestion I always give is to wear your travel shoes a lot before you leave to make sure that they are broken in and comfortable for your trip. Here are three types of shoes that have served me well over my years of traveling....read more
