Five Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Chicago

Five Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Chicago, Flickr: kymmaThere are plenty of things for kids to do and see in the Windy City. If you’re looking for a kid-friendly place to refuel during your travel adventures, check out one of these delicious and entertaining options.

Bakin' & Eggs
3120 N. Lincoln Ave.
Chicago
This darling bake shop and casual restaurant is the perfect place to bring the kids, especially on Thursdays, because kids eat for free!  The breakfast and lunch menus are packed with delicious options that will please even the pickiest pint-sized foodie. (This mama recommends the caramelized onion frittata.)

Ed Debevic's
640 N. Wells St.
Chicago
Ed Debevic’s is a Chicago institution, and for good reason. The All-American diner fare, fun atmosphere, and sassy server/entertainers make it the perfect place to bring the kids for a memorable lunch or dinner experience. Be sure to get a milkshake (you won’t be sorry).

Fuego Loco
722 Lake Street
Oak Park
If the kids love authentic Mexican cuisine, then head to Fuego Loco. The colorful, funky décor and mouth-wateringly fresh fare (including five unique homemade salsas brought to your table) are sure to win over your young foodies. While the kids are downing tostadas, the adults can kick back and enjoy a top-shelf margarita or glass of Sangria.

Wishbone
3300 N. Lincoln Avenue
Chicago
For a fun, modern atmosphere and Southern cooking with a twist, take the kids to Wishbone. Enjoy a breakfast of corn pancakes or shrimp & grits or tuck into a dinner platter with blackened catfish or pulled pork. The friendly waitstaff at “The Bone” welcomes young diners, making for a comfortable, laid-back family restaurant experience.

Capannari Ice Cream
10 S. Pine Street
Mount Prospect
For dessert (or a midday treat), head to Capannari’s old-fashioned ice cream parlor. Don’t let the vintage décor fool you, as far as flavors go, this place is cutting edge.  All ice creams, sorbets and yogurts are made from the freshest ingredients. Too chilly for ice cream? Try one of the delicious cakes or pies (or grab one to go).
